Carrying out correct and accurate measurements to ensure that concrete meet blueprint specs

Reading blueprints and examining drawings to ensure that they are correct and to also calculate the materials needed

Creating patterns, forms, or foundations according to plans

Ensuring that materials are broken or cut into the required size

Carrying out the cleaning of excess mortar with the use of relevant tools such as trowels and other hand tools

Executing the construction of corners with a corner pole, or by building a corner pyramid to ensure smoothness and efficiency

Aligning structures vertically and horizontally

Filling up expansion joints with the necessary and appropriate caulking materials

Creating concrete forms and utilizing machinery to direct wet concrete into them

Waterproofing, finishing and repairing concrete in new and existing structures.

 Qualified individuals will be comfortable with rough carpentry, concrete form assembly and general concrete work.  

 Two years form carpentry experience is preferred.

Smooth out concrete in segments to ensure the concrete poured is level;

Use groovers and hand trowels to spread concrete;

Wash away excess concrete

Use machines that vibrate concrete to fill air pockets;

Level concrete using special blades, making sure all lumps and bubbles are smoothed over;

Prepare surface with hammer and chose;

Rub cement in with sponge-rubber float or burlap;

Finish corners by hand;

Arrange the concrete forms;

Use wood or plastic forms to shape the concrete and hold it until it is set.
